I love this message from Kolton Wong.
It has some valuable points about dealing with loss- real, personal loss and career loss. It also points out the importance of having a group of men you can turn to and share that you are not okay. Having a group you trust to support you, speak truth into your life, a group that accepts you and a group that will tell you it’s okay to not be okay.
This message also talks about picking yourself back up after getting knocked down- whether that be from professional set backs or from losing a loved one. How you can take a defeat or loss, and with time and help from your Faith and friends, rediscover your purpose in life. That you don’t have to be held down, held back or held hostage by the past.
Your willingness to get up and move forward is leading you to your next victory. Your story of perseverance will not only help you in future success, but will help show others that there is more life left to live. You only need to decide to get up and live it!
If you don’t have those men in your life who will be there to help you when you are not okay, I encourage you to reach out to the GMen of Galvanize, and/or find a men’s group at your church.
Life is not a solo journey- it’s a team sport and it’s better when you do it together.
